Highlander Events

Here is a list of our past 7 Point highlander events. Tournament organisers and community representatives have worked hard to collect and submit the Top 8 placings from their local highlander events. Typically collecting a digital deck list from each of their top players. If you want to show your event results and give a short description of your 7 point highlander event, you can submit a Tournament Report here.

Continuing to the Lockdown series 2021, ready for all your community magic needs we are hosting webcam events with proxies allowed to promote a fun and welcoming activity while people are staving off the lockdown blues! Usually once a month we give the opportunity to play Friday night and/or Saturday morning, MTGO or webcam. Once we reach 8 players we fire! It’s a good way to whip out those foil alters and full art proxies if you like paper and an opportunity for MTGO grinders to build the online community! Again this time it was webcam and we managed to… Read More »International: Friday Night 7 Point Highlander – Webcam (13 Players via Discord) 10/09/2021 | Deck Lists & Tournament Report

SA: Dragon’s Lair Sailsbury Adelaide 04/09/2021 (21 Players)| Deck Lists &Tournament Report

Dragon’s Lair Salisbury hosted a really smooth event with a good turnout of both new and established players (21). 1st -Rob Lark won the title, beating Socrates in the finals. When I asked what archetype Rob would describe his deck as he shrugged and said “I’m just playing the best cards.” I would describe it as Grixis Tempo splashing white for Mentor, Teferi3, Swords, Prismatic Ending. You could call it control I guess; but Rob elected to play Dragon Rage Channeller, Dark Confidant and only 20 lands. He was on an Acall package for his points. Well done Rob on… Read More »SA: Dragon’s Lair Sailsbury Adelaide 04/09/2021 (21 Players)| Deck Lists &Tournament Report

SA: Adelaide Dragons Lair St Marys 15/08/2021 | Deck Lists & Tournament Report

By Torin Kelderman 12 players showed up for the chance at some mystery spicy prizes at Dragons Lair. I decided to take “Welcome to the Jundggro” for a second spin after a top 4 showing at Good Games Adelaide last week: Match one starting with a quick win in game one thanks to good flips from a keen duelist against James Arthur only to lose to the staples of murktide regent and monastery mentor in games two and three respectively. Match two saw the aggro two drops particularly stormfist crusader and werewolf pack leader beat mardu midrange in two quick… Read More »SA: Adelaide Dragons Lair St Marys 15/08/2021 | Deck Lists & Tournament Report

QLD: Toowoomba 7-Point Highlander – Competitive REL 14/08/2021 | Deck Lists & Tournament Report

Wow! Thanks to two of our local judges we were still able to fire this event narrowly dodging the greater Brisbane lock down. Tyrone Phillips and Ryan Kruger worked tirelessly through all of the 5 rounds of swiss and the top 8 with Eventlink down (Challonge and spread sheets for tiebreakers). We can’t thank you enough for making this tournament happen!  Congratulations to the top 8 players. Yet again we see the experienced out of towners crushing these events. Brisbane put 7/8 players into the top seats. Lets look at the final results and the decks that made it through… Read More »QLD: Toowoomba 7-Point Highlander – Competitive REL 14/08/2021 | Deck Lists & Tournament Report

Lockdown has affect many Australians but thankfully with the power of webcams we could get 15 people at the same time to bash out some highlander. QLD: Toowoomba 7PH 06/07/2021 (15 players)| Deck Lists & Tournament Report

  • by

15 players battled it out over 4 rounds at Battlestation, Toowoomba in the first of two events to be held on successive Tuesday nights in July. This event was non-proxy, although there were still a lot of MH2 cards present, especially in the winning decks. In terms of deck archetypes in the room, my rough count was as follows: 2x Jund Midrange, 2x Oracle (Bug and Esper), 2x 4c aggro (Legends and Lurrus delirium), 2x blue moon (one tinker & show and tell), RUG Tempo, RB Aggro (Double mox no proxy!), another UR tolarian artifact deck, Elves, UG miracle grow,… Read More »QLD: Toowoomba 7PH 06/07/2021 (15 players)| Deck Lists & Tournament Report
