After a thorough application process earlier this year, we’re pleased to welcome two new members to the 7PH committee. A big thank you to all those who applied. We received many strong applications, and it’s encouraging to see so much enthusiasm and dedication to the Highlander format. We’re excited to introduce two passionate and experienced members to our team.
Patrick “Pat” Hawkins
Pat has been a passionate part of the 7PH community since 2017, although you’re just as likely to find him behind the scenes as on the battlefield. Hailing from Wagga Wagga, Pat’s journey with 7PH began locally, often organising proxy events before joining larger tournaments like GPs. Known for his love of high-powered combo decks, Time Vault remains his signature favourite, embodying his preference for lethal combos over long, grindy games (skills honed during his days as a Legacy Reanimator grinder on MTGO).
More recently, Pat’s contributions have focused on tournament organising and ensuring all players have access to the cards they need. His dedication to fostering the growth of the format is clear. He sees even greater potential for 7 Point Highlander and is committed to pushing it forward. A firm believer in giving back, Pat runs multiple giveaways at his events. Pat thrives on feedback and is always open to new ideas on how he can further support the community.
Violet “Voltie” Lou
Based in Melbourne, Violet “Voltie” Lou is a dedicated Magic: The Gathering grinder and content creator with a wealth of experience in the game. A seasoned competitor, she’s made multiple appearances at the Pro Tour and brings her expertise as a Level 2 Judge to the magic community. Outside of tournament play, Voltie shares her passion through her YouTube channel, Twitch Stream and articles, where she engages with fans, breaks down gameplay, and showcases her knowledge of the format.
A strong advocate for the 7 Point Highlander format, Voltie uses her platform and expertise to support and inspire players at all levels. Her dedication to breaking down the complexities of the game and sharing insights with the community has made her an invaluable resource in the ongoing growth of 7 Point Highlander. She is creating an ongoing library of Budget and 8 point decklists for newer players, and wishes to invest her energy in continuing this project in the hope of inviting more players to 7PH.
We’d also like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Kate and Kokey for their incredible contributions and dedication over the years. Their hard work and passion have played a huge part in shaping the committee and supporting the growth of the 7 Point Highlander format.
